Dr Louis Mark Eramanis  BSc, BVMS, MVS, MVSc, MANZCVS, DACVECC

Specialist in Emergency & Critical Care

Louis began his veterinary journey at Murdoch University before embarking on an internship at the Royal Veterinary College. He went on to undertake his emergency and critical care residency at the University of Melbourne whilst completing his master’s thesis characterising venom-induced consumption coagulopathy in tiger snake envenomed dogs.

This was followed by attaining membership in the emergency and critical care chapter of the ANZCVS and becoming a diplomate of the Americal College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. He has since worked at Animal Referral Hospital, Homebush and is currently part of a collaborative team of criticalists at Small Animal Specialist Hospital, Sydney.

He stays engaged by training residents and interns, speaking at conferences, and being involved with the ANZCVS. He enjoys balancing the excitement of emergency and the intensity of critical care. In between all this, he can be found exploring cities (often with a beer in hand), sampling tasty foods, attending live music acts and buying Apple products.

His sassy cat, Saphira, keeps him company in Sydney while his senior dog, Beau, and a more mischievous cat, Nymphadora Tonks, live with their grandparents.
